Taylor is a highly experienced developer of online communities, web ventures and media businesses. In the 1980's he was Managing Editor at The Source, the pioneering company in McLean, VA that first offered email, online news, chat and electronic bulletin boards to the first wave of personal computer users. While there he became a leading practitioner in the use of online community services (which today we call social networking).

In the early 1990's, as the Internet appeared -- but before the Web gave it pictures and magic -- he was part of the team that formed the CapAccess community network, which provided low- to no-cost access to Internet email and content for the Washington DC metro area. A regional collaboration supported by volunteers, local governments, school systems, businesses, and service organizations, CapAccess was the first public point of access to the greater global net.

Before being digitized he was a print journalist, and began his career in Bethesda, writing about high school sports in Montgomery County for the Montgomery Journal weekly newspaper.

He played basketball at Providence College, and had the pleasure of coaching his three daughters during their elementary years on CYO basketball squads. Then cheering and grimacing for them through their soccer, hoops and lacrosse experiences in high school. (And they still speak to him to this day!)
